Football that still works with a stroller

A school Orlik is great for organised training, but parents with a toddler and an eight-year-old need open grass or a small pitch next to swings, shade, and — when luck holds — a toilet. Kraków’s classic answer is Błonia plus Park Jordana: kick on the meadow, then retreat to playgrounds and WCs. This guide spreads football-friendly parks across the city so you are not always on the same muddy patch after rain.

1) Park Jordana — sports fields plus basketball, water play, and toilets; the default after a Błonia kickabout. 2) Błonia Krakowskie — the big meadow for pickup football and scooters (toilets via Jordana / al. 3 Maja). 3–4) Park Lotników — Smoczy Skwer and Samoloty for play, with sports fields in the same east belt. 5) Park Decjusza — west-side lawns and pitches when central Kraków is packed. 6) Park Solvay — south Kraków multi-use sports without Old Town noise. 7) Park Miejski Bagry — lake afternoon with room to run and shoot. 8) Park Dąbie — Grzegórzki grass between river and stadium district. 9) Park Tysiąclecia — Mistrzejowice space for longer games. 10) Zalew Nowohucki — Nowa Huta lake lawns and a listed toilet on Bulwarowa. Bring a size 4/5 ball; goals and nets are not guaranteed — log what you find.

Parent tips

  • Błonia has almost no shade — hats and water are non-negotiable in July.
  • Use Jordana toilets after a meadow game; do not assume Błonia buildings are open.
  • Wet grass = muddy kit; pack a change for the car or tram.
  • Log pitch open/closed and whether goals were usable for the next family.
