A fortress that became a city park
Cytadela is Poznań’s great hilltop park: former Prussian fortifications, now lawns, cemeteries of memory, rose gardens, and several playgrounds. It is one of the easiest big-city parks for a scooter or balance bike because the main alleys are broad. The climb from the Warta side is real, so if you have a double stroller, approach from the flatter Winogrady edge when you can.
What toddlers actually do here
Look for the dedicated play areas rather than letting kids scramble on historic walls. Shade is mixed — open parade grounds get hot, tree lines are better for picnic blankets.
